In 1945, a small rubber extrusion business opened in Pawling, NY (65 miles north of New York City) with fifteen employees who began making gaskets for military ammunition cases in a 25,000 sq. ft building. Today, Pawling Engineered Products (an employee-owned company) occupies over 100,000 sq. ft of space and has expanded its product offering to include plastics, special compression molding, and multi-laminate capabilities.

Quality Assurance
Since the 1960’s, quality has been Pawling’s central focus with our initial program centered around MILQ9858 to satisfy the special needs of our aerospace partners. In the 1970’s and 80’s, the program was augmented based on ANSI N45 and 10 CFR50, Appendix B, to meet the demanding requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for seals and other components used in the operation and testing of nuclear generating plants.

In 1996, our quality system was certified to the requirements of ISO 9001. Today, we steadfastly maintain this certification as we continue to meet the needs of highly specialized industries along with the many other demanding challenges of the 21st Century.
